ADMISSIONS AND DIS-ENROLLMENT POLICIES

Admission Policy

Enrollment at Garden Ridge Prep. School is open to children from six weeks to twelve years of age. Enrollment shall be granted without regard to a child's race, color, creed, religion, national origin, gender, or disability; and without regard to a parent or guardian's race, color, creed, religion, age, national origin, gender, pregnancy or disability.

By enrolling your child at Garden Ridge Prep. School, you agree to adhere to the policies and practices that have been established in accordance with the Texas Department of Protective and Regulatory Services, and those that Garden Ridge Prep. School has found appropriate. It is the parent/guardians responsibility to read the Parent Handbook and stay informed on the written policies as well as changes that you might receive. It is not possible to have all situations covered under a written policy and special situations will be decided by the administration.

Subsidy Program

Garden Ridge Prep. School DOES accept child care subsidies through Child Care Management Services (CCMS) of Texas. For further information, please contact the center director. Subsidized children must have the case manager call before they start care and we follow our contractually obligation with CCMS, and require parents to pay their co pay by Monday the beginning of each month, or we will have to report non payments to our CCMS office. Parents of a subsidized child must complete all required paperwork on time to continue enrollment at Garden Ridge Prep. School. Parents of subsidized children are also required to sign a fee agreement, agreeing to be personally responsible for the payment of tuition, in the event they become ineligible to receive child care subsidies.

Continued enrollment at Garden Ridge Prep. School is contingent upon child's adherence to the policies and procedures of Garden Ridge Prep. School as outlined in this handbook including, but not limited to, timely payment of all fees and tuition.

Parents are required to notify immediately Garden Ridge Prep. School should any of the information collected at the time of enrollment or any time thereafter changes. Failure to do so may result in the child(ren) being dis-enrolled from the program and forfeiture of any deposit.

Enrollment Procedures

Parents can apply for enrollment of their child in Garden Ridge Prep. School by completing the Enrollment Application and paying the $50 .00 Registration Fee. The Application Fee is non-refundable.

Initial enrollment is contingent upon receipt of the completed enrollment application, including the signed fee agreement and signed Parent Handbook receipt, registration fee.

Immunization records and health assessment must be received within the first 2 days from the child's start date in order to continue care. The Enrollment Application and Fee Agreements are not meant to serve as contracts guaranteeing service for any duration.

Vision and Hearing Test

To comply with Texas Minimum Standards, we must perform a vision and hearing screening on your child who is 4 years of age or older, and not entered into an Elementary school program, or all children who are 4 years of age by September 1st. A parent may present evidence that their child was screened one year prior to enrollment. Parents will be given advance notice of this testing.

Immunization Requirements

To comply with the state regulations, all admission forms must be completed and on file at the center before your child attends the school. Immunization records must be current and updated on a regular basis, and child must be free of communicable diseases, as well as tuberculin testing being current. We must receive updated immunization records within 2 days of enrollment. The Texas Department of Health audits our records regularly. Your child will be excluded from attendance at Garden Ridge Prep. School, if this information has not been submitted, is not current, or is incomplete. Tuition and other fees.

Registration Fee

Parents can apply for enrollment of their child in Garden Ridge Prep. School by completing the Enrollment Application and paying the $50 .00 Registration Fee. The Application Fee is non-refundable.

Weekly Tuition

All tuition is due in advance on Monday of each week, however, if it is not received by 9:00 a.m. on Tuesday, a late fee of $5.00 will be accessed for each day payment is late. IN ORDER TO ENSURE QUALITY PROGRAMMING AND PROPER STAFFING, FULL TUITION IS DUE FOR YOUR FULL-TIME OR PART-TIME CHILD REGARDLESS OF ATTENDANCE.

Holidays and school closings, including inclement weather, are considered when the tuition budget is set; therefore, regardless of these closings, regular tuition is due.

School Age Children

If the elementary school is closed for any reason and your child is going to attend Garden Ridge Prep. School on those days, please sign up with your child's teacher. If you sign up to attend all day care with Garden Ridge Prep. School, your account will be billed the $15.00 per day extra.

NSF Fee

A $25.00 returned check fee will be charged to you, for every returned, unpaid check. The tuition and the NSF fee must be paid by money order or cash. After receiving two NSF checks, a cash only bas

Drop in Tuition

All drop in tuitions must be paid in cash, and in advance of the day the service is rendered.

Receipt

An official receipt will be issued upon request. If you pay by cash, please ask for a receipt. A year to date or year end statement is also available upon request.

Late Pick Up

We ask that you make every effort to pick up your child before the school's closing time. Just as you do, our staff have responsibilities after the school closes. A $1.00 penalty is charged for every 1 minutes your child is left at the school beyond the 6:45 p.m. closing time.

The late pickup fee starts immediately at 6:45 and is based on the time you leave the center. So if you get to center on time, but leave the center a few minutes after 6:45 due to talking to the teacher or looking for something, the late fee starts at 6:45. The center closes at 6:30

DISCOUNTS & CREDITS

Multiple Child Discount

Multiple child discount: :Garden Ridge Prep. School offers a multiple child discount for one or more siblings enrolled during the same school year. Tuition rates are discounted $10 for the second child, $20 for the second child, and $30 for the third child. Discounts are only applicable when tuition payments are made on time. The full tuition rate, plus any additional late fees will be charged when tuition payments are late as per the late tuition policy stated above.

Referral Credit

We will issue a $50.00 credit for your referral to our school, when the referred child has been enrolled for three consecutive months.

Vacation Credit

We will issue one free week of tuition after your child has been enrolled for six consecutive months and at the conclusion of every six months thereafter. However, tuition and all outstanding fees must be current.

Credit for Absences and Vacation

Occasional absences of LESS than (5) five days duration are NOT reimbursable. Absences of (5) or more consecutive days are reimbursable only in cases where 2 weeks prior notice is given. We must maintain a staff-to-child ratio for all children enrolled regardless of whether they are in attendance or not.

Weekly Versus Daily Rate

Our weekly rates are significantly lower than our daily / drop in rate. Generally 3 days of daily rate is approximately equals to our weekly rate which is for 5 days. For those occasions that your child is ill or your child does not attend the school for the whole week, such as Christmas holidays, we will only charge you for the days that your child attends the school. However, the daily rate applies, not the weekly rate divided by 5 to get the daily rate.

Sick Days or Holiday Credits

If your child does not attend our school for two or more days due to illness or holidays like Christmas, then at your discretion, you may be charged a daily rate described above times the number of attendant days.

WITHDRAWAL AND DIS-ENROLLMENT POLICIES

Withdrawal

One week notice Is required when withdrawing a child for any reason. If the proper notice is given, any unused tuition and deposit will be refunded within 7 days of the withdrawal. If the required notice is not given, parents will be charged tuition for one week. Parents of a withdrawn child must fill out a new application form.

Dis-enrollment:

The Garden Ridge Prep. School is committed to providing each student with a quality educational program. This goal can only be achieved in a cooperative school climate, free from disruptions, which hinder and interfere with the educational process. Our goal is to ensure the safety and well-being of each child in our facility. Any use of profanity, humiliation, destruction of furniture and property of others, injury to students or staff is unacceptable and will not be tolerated.

Please be aware that should the following situations arise, Garden Ridge Preparatory may ask you to dis-enroll your child.
Challenging behavior
Examples of challenging behavior: Challenging behavior by children include, but not limited to: Danger to self or others such as : head banging, excessive biting that breaks the skin, hitting, hair pulling, using objects to inflict bodily harm, etc.

Disruptive behavior that creates chronic interference to classroom activities (examples include but are not limited to: tantrums, screaming, foul language, severe or chronic non-compliance or defiance.)
Non-payment of tuition:
Failure to pay tuition, for the schedule that you have given the director. all tuition is paid in advance for the coming week. services will be discontinued after one week, if tuition is not current.
Excessive tardiness in picking up the child
The child is considered a threat to other children
